Drawing upon findings from her recent study on international comparison of family policies, Prof. Tang unpacks the emerging family-related issues in the grand social transformation of China and discusses the government responsibility in building family support policies and systems.

About the Speaker

TANG Can is a senior research at the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She has published extensively on topics related to gender and family, including Family Issues and Government Responsibility: An International Comparison of Government Support for Family, Family and Gender Studies in Transitional China, The Transformation of Urban Families in China.
